- Hua Mei and Xian Mei, two girls from the Qiang ethnic group, were photographed in Lixian County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province in 2006 by team member Arong. At that time, Hua Mei (on the left in the photo) was only 17 years old and working as a waitress at a local guesthouse, while Xian Mei, 22, was already a primary school teacher. After the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, Hua Mei and Xian Mei lost contact with each other, which left us deeply worried. In 2012, Arong returned to Lixian and, after extensive inquiries, finally located Hua Mei. By then, Hua Mei had established her own prosperous farmhouse guesthouse, with a thriving business, a loving family, and an adorable baby. From Hua Mei, we learned that Xian Mei had moved to Chengdu for work. The most important thing is that they are both safe and healthy. We sincerely wish Hua Mei and Xian Mei lifelong happiness and joy!

Tibetans are a deeply spiritual people, devoted to lifelong prayers for themselves and their families. Their daily lives revolve around rituals like prostration, chanting scriptures, and wearing sacred talismans. Sacred sites such as the Potala Palace, Mount Kailash, and Lake Manasarovar are considered essential pilgrimages in their lifetime.
